Support for Mew
This weekend (October 14th and 15th) PRESS PLAY ON TAPE performed two gigs as support for the Danish widely known band Mew in Scandinavian Congress Center in Århus and in KB Hallen in Copenhagen. The first concert had an audience of 2800 people and the latter around 3800 people so this is by far the largest audience we have played for.
Dressed as prime nerds (oh yeah, look at the pictures below) we entered the stage and must have baffled the entire audience consisting of 14-year old Mew-fan girls to mid 50s former C64 owners (we found out ). After Commando kicked off the set people really received it openmindedly which was very nice. Many people not even familiar with the music approached us after the concerts and flattered us... Also there were quite large amounts of people already knowing the C64 and its music---some of them knew us already but quite some didn't and their surprise must have been among the greatest
Afterwards we met people in the merchandise shop and had lots of conversation with all sorts of enthusiastic people. It is a bit funny when well-known celebrities come and thank you and buy your music
A warm thanks from us must go to Mew for letting us play before them and have this enormous experience with a huge crowd in front of us. Also Blue Foundation must get a huge greeting for mutual support and help. Let's hope we can meet again sometime
Oh, and not to forget: Also a huge round of applause to the catering team in Århus. They treated us as kings and served us even blue M&Ms!
Review
Danish music magazine GAFFA has this review (read the whole review here):
Mew med Press Play On Tape og Blue Foundation Scandinavian Congress Center, Århus
Live
Press Play On Tape
