So Why am I even in this band? I mean... I don't play drums! Well,
actually I do, but I didn't use to. I actually only ever played a
little bit of keyboard, just for fun, but not really anything worth
mentioning. I spent my entire youth doing c64 SIDs and Amiga MODs
without ever learning to play for real. (Praise editors!!!) Apart from
that I am a singer! So obviously something had to happen if I wanted
to do anything in the band apart from arranging the songs and
screaming: "V8!!! RETURN TO BASE IMMEDIATELY!!". And, well... Nobody
played drums. So, there you have it!
(Actually the real reason I'm in the band is that I have a truck license...
10-4)
The worst thing about being a drummer is that they always put you in the
back. Why is that? I mean, I sit down and the other guys stand up in front
of me!!! Those media-whores! But that has got to change or I will
Bossa-nova Commando next time we play it.
Somewhere on this page is a picture of my drums. Well, they are not
completely mine. Jesper and Theo paid a minor fraction of the price so that
they could molest them without asking, but that is not important right now.
They used to belong to a pretty famous danish drummer, so if I believed in
Karma and stuff I would probably be able to suck up some of his essence...
unfortunately I don't.
This kit has pretty amazing sounds! I don't think I would never be able to
create a sound as 'full' with a normal drum kit.
Apart from playing drums I did (do?) the mastering of our CD. I made c64
tunes for 2 years ('86 and '87) and made an extreme amount of amiga MODs
during 87-91. Then I lost interest in music (apart from singing) until
joining hybris/NEMESIS (www.hybrisnemesis.com) in '98, where I have been
making tunes for most of the demos.
In case you are interested in sids here are most of my personal creations. You need
a sidplayer to play them. A lot of them uses a "special effect" i discovered, which
the c64 could produce, but which is not properly emulated in the sid-players. So in
many of the songs you sometimes encounter something that sounds really weird... On
a real c64 is actually sounds a lot like scratching...
No Limits (1988) At a DemoParty someone gave me 4 hours to do something on the "Future Composer". Never tried it before.
Burps Bodega (1987) My best???
Spider Says Fuk! (1987: "How does this Rock Monitor thingy Work?")
A Piece of Noise (1987) Rob-inspired. A personal favorite
Well Donovan (1987)
Silent Explosion (1987) Inspired by LightForce (by Rob)
Argh!!! Lovely! (1987) was really mostly an experiment...
Always Hungry (1986) okay... I like Iron Maiden...
Heavy Stuff (1986) Trying to compose Rock on Sid... Actually pretty OK
Ghosts'n Goblins (1986) The ARCADE-version. The correct version!!!!
Spider Goes Mad (1986)
Death Struggle (1986) My first tune. VERY 'Ski Dance' inspired.
